Highlights of "Sandy"
Susie White, owner of the Lone Steer in Steele, had an idea to create a scrapbook to highlight the work of creator, James Miller, along with the efforts of so
many volunteers who continue to make the World's Largest Sandhill Crane an amazing tourist attraction.  Dora Colton of Driscoll, used her "Creative
Memories" talents to organize the scrapbook.  These are just a few of the pages from that scrapbook.

beside the giant Sandhill Crane, and giving
his first interview for TV.
The Sandhill Crane has made Steele a great
tourism stop along I-94. Many tourists enjoy
having their picture taken beside the large bird.
Volunteers dig in to plant trees
donated by various organizations.
If you plant it  . . . it will bloom!  Numerous
flowers, trees, and plants take shape as
volunteers maintain the grounds.
